From Zero to Hero: Transform Your Body with Dumbbell Workouts

Dumbbell exercises and workouts – so familiar, so simple – still do you know how to transform your body with them? Dumbbells are some of the most underrated exercise equipment when it comes to full-body workouts. If you have ever been to the gym, you must be aware of dumbbells. Moreover, there is a chance that you might even be bored of them already!

Today, we are going to share with you some amazing exercises that will help your body become toner, stronger, leaner and even better.

Pro Tip: Work with a weight that is comfortable for you and your body! Don’t try to go with the flow. Always start with smaller weights and keep adding more over time.

Goblet Squats with Dumbbells

Start the exercise with your feet apart from each other. The distance between the feet should be equivalent to your hips. The dumbbells should be at chest level in both your hands and the arms should be extended in front of you. Make an angle with your feet to start your squats. Before squatting, inhale. Try to keep the inhale as you go down in the squat position. Once you start coming back up, exhale.

If you are not comfortable doing a complete squat, you can use a sturdy box or a low-lying chair. Don’t sit completely but gently on it after each squat.

Bent Over Dumbbell Rows

If you want to target the core, lats and back, this exercise is for you. Stand straight, hinge at your hips and drive them back. While engaging your abs, squeeze the scapulae together firmly. While you hold that position, bring the dumbbells back towards the hips.

The secret to getting the best out of this exercise (and all the others) is to buy good-quality dumbbells. Fortunately, the Fitness Depot has you covered with some of the best rubber-coated dumbbells. These are very functional and the rubber-coating makes using them super easy.

Walking Lunges

You can use either dumbbells or even kettlebells for this exercise. Buy the best kettlebells from the Fitness Depot to make exercising more beneficial and easy. A slight modification to this exercise can be doing it while standing, but we prefer adding a little walk to it to make it target the entire body.

Start by keeping the dumbbells or kettlebells to the side. Keep the shoulders back to ensure that the back muscles are properly engaged. Step back once you are in position. Remember, there should be a 90-degree angle between both knees at this point. Your back should be as close to the ground as possible. Come back to your position and repeat with the other leg.

Seated Twist and Tap

Seemingly simple, the seated twist and tap is a true challenger when it comes to full-body dumbbell exercises. The hard part is to keep your knees touching together while the feet are firmly on the ground. If that seems difficult, you can keep a cloth or towel between both feet.

Now, hold the dumbbell near your chest. You will need a single one. You can easily order them from Fitness Depot. While twisting to the right, exhale. Lower both arms to touch the dumbbell to the ground on the right side. While you return to the centre, exhale. Repeat it on the other side.

Bonus Exercise: Single-Leg Balancing Romanian Dead Lift

Want to take it up a notch? If yes, this dumbbell workout is just for you! Start by holding the dumbbell in your left hand while you stand on the right leg. Inhale and bend over halfway. Hold the air and extend your left leg behind you. The leg should make a parallel line to the floor. Stabilize and balance yourself while exhaling bring back your body to a standing position.
